"Both Gen. David Petraeus and Gen. John Allen intervened in the same nasty child custody battle involving Natalie Khawam..."

"... the 'psychologically unstable' twin sister of Jill Kelley, whose bombshell claims of being threatened by Petraeus' lover led to the top spy’s resignation last week, the Post has learned."
And in court documents filed by Kelley's sister Natalie Khawam, she name-drops both Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts and Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island -- who both have ties to a Providence, RI, lawyer/lobbyist who loaned a whopping $300,000 to Khawam.

Khawam claimed in a July 12 letter to her estranged husband that she took their son "on vacation last year to Martha Vineyard," where their son and "I had a great time at the DSCC [Democratic Senate Campaign Committee] event."

"Sen. John Kerry asked if [her son] would be coming again this year," Khawam wrote. "[Their son] was a superstar at the DSCC last year."

A spokeswoman for Kerry – who the Washington Post reports is being considered as President Obama's next secretary of defense -- had no immediate comment.
Oh, my. Petraeusgate is a gaping maw! Men teetering on the edge. And always another woman. Look out, there are 2 of them! Kelley comes in duplicate: Kelley and Khawam... ka-bam!

ADDED: This story is an immense distraction, with all these spangly details. I'm not sure what parts are going to matter. Is Kerry seriously involved? Is the child custody dispute significant? Will it tie back to Benghazi importantly or is it taking us down a rathole?

John Kerry has fancied himself as a player for a long time. A couple of months before he began his Presidential run in the primaries, he was at some of the bars on Rush Street trying to hit on co-eds. The girls all told him a similar thing--"You do know you are old enough to be my grandpa, don't you?" They had cellphone pictures and a few recordings of the audio. The Press wouldn't touch it and some of the stuff played on talk radio--WLS. The one non-Lefty newspaper columnist in Chicago--John Kass--did a piece on it, too.

By report, Eric Holder knew this summer about the Petraeus investigation yet didn't tell the POTUS. If this is true, then Holder is malignantly derelict of his duties and should resign immediately. If it isn't true and in fact he notified Obama far in advance of November 6, then Obama should tender his own resignation lest he be impeached.

These revelations might seem funny to us, but to those grunts who have their ass in the grass, these kinds of things ruin morale.

When those in charge are busy with anything but showing leadership and a concern about whom they command, innocent people die.

Those doing the fighting have to follow rules of engagement that these commanders require that they follow, service members die needlessly.

I'd bust everyone involved down to the rank of E1.

I second this comment by DBQ. I've been thinking about it since I read it yesterday.

I cannot see any point to continuing to vote in MN, now that the voter ID law lost. I've seen fraud and no one gives a shit. Hell, they think it's funny.

They even tried voter fraud at our neighborhood association meeting. (God were they pissed when it failed.)

It was for me Kristallnacht against an honest and trustworthy vote. I see no point in participating in an evil.

Dalrymple:
"When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is...in some small way to become evil oneself."

AllenS said...

This really pisses me off, Roger. I have no way of knowing, and I doubt if anybody will ever know when the administration knew about all of this, but it seems to me that this might be why nobody did anything about helping those people in Benghazi on the anniversary of 9/11. These military commanders were not doing their job. They were in a CYA mode.

You'll never hear Bill or Hillary Clinton talking about all of this.

What AllenS said and then some. Private E-1 is not low enough.

You could just delete half of the flag and general rank officers overnight and not miss them. We have over 800+ today, for a military that tops out at 1.4 million and declining...doubt we have even 10 full strength Divisions of grunts. WTF do all these high ranks do?

Now you know.

How General Petraeus got his "hero" standing I don't know. One strategic/tactical move like "the surge?" His first combat command was in 2003 as a Major General, so I doubt he was pulling patrol duty as point in Falluja or whatever. Well educated, no doubt bright, fit, and apparently...horny. So it goes.

There was no valid military excuse what-so-ever for a female embedded (pun intended) biographer, known personally to him previously, with his command staff in Afghanistan. People are still dying there, god fucking damnit!

He wasn't the only general chasing twat in Afghanistan, it was/is almost a sport. I had a Major General Division Commander who specialized in it. He even fucked the wife of one of my subordinates. Army caught up to his act when he pissed off enough women and he was shown the door....so to speak. As a Colonel. Even then about 80% of his flings worshiped him as a hero, too.

This kind of crap is just sitting there to be used when convenient. It is never a secret.

Does writing a letter testifying to your good opinion of someone seeking to retain custody of her children in a "nasty divorce case" qualify as "intervening" in the case?

As for the judge's opinion of Ms. Khawan's medical condition, have we not recently seen judges removed from cases for expressing opinions they were not qualified to make about defendants in their courts?

Au contraire mon sockpuppet. There are multiple charitable activities that I USED to participate in that I will no longer, since the dirtbags who benefit are most likely those scum who voted [more than once probably as well] for Obama and more FREE STUFF.

Food pantry and food drives.....you have food stamps, use them on food, dirtball, instead of drugs, cigarettes, junk food and beer.

Clothing drives.......if I know you, I "might" personally buy you a coat otherwise....get a job.

You Obama voters have free money in the form of food stamps, subsidized rent, subsidized utilities, free phone and free health care [I have to pay cash for my medical care...no insurance] AND we are paying for you through taxes. I don't care about your problems.

Homeless shelter donations of my time, goods and money....see all of above.

Local organizations where I am/was an elected Board Member or other official and spent countless hours away from our own businesses and my family. Municipal Advisory Council, Chamber of Commerce, CSD, Economic Development Council, etc. Sorry. I don't have time for your bullshit and endless bickering, backstabbing and trying to explain simple concepts to people so stupid, I'm surprised they can get through the day. [talk about the real no information people...sheesh]... I resign.

Things I will continue to do 1.) donate time as a volunteer librarian at our LOCAL private/non profit library. Not government affiliated. Plus it is something I LIKE to do. 2.) Donate to the Soroptomist's LOCAL battered women's shelter program. 3.)Knit afghans, slippers, and hats through my knitting guild. for the people in the LOCAL long term care facility who don't have anyone who gives a shit about them anymore.

Since everyone has decided that they want to be Julia and have Big Brother run their lives....who am I to step in their way. You don't need my help. Have at it suckers.

For the sake of moving forward I'll stipulate that both sides are evil.

Didn't the cognitive dissonance as you typed that cause your ears to ring?
Stipulate that all partisans are partisan.
Now evaluate the current Benghazi mess without knowing which administration was in power at the time.
Is it a great thing we should all be proud of or is it a cesspool of corruption that should make everyone sick?

No cognitive dissonance here. I own my contradictions.

All partisans are partisan, that's true. I've been reminded here before that all of us are partisans. I said "intense partisans" because I was trying to not use the inflammatory term "extremists," which is in fact what many of you are IMO.

Really? Does it mean nothing to you that there are at least two or three persons here, who have served as "duty officers" or "staff duty NCO's" in situations like Benghazi, and they tell you that the basic facts of an organized attack were known within 10 minutes, and communicated to senior offices in Washington at DoD, CIA, and Dept of State?

Odd then that the "video excuse" was used for so long, in my opinion. Even the Libyans in Benghazi knew that was crap.

You see,no matter what reason, real or contrived, is put up for the non-response to the attack and attempt to preserve lives, it stands as a grievous failure on our part. Period.

Please don't insult my intelligence by challenging what I am saying. I've stood duty watches and had to react to incursions as they happened, had to receive and encrypt and re-send messages of the details to appropriate senior offices. Fortunately we never had to order our first fall back tactical contingencies performed of blowing bridges and access points behind our troops. That would have crushed me. Some of those potentials still keep me awake.

Feel free to disagree and treat Benghazi like some fraternity or sorority screw up awaiting some administrative judgment. Trust me, it was not that. No one wants to die and four men did. Maybe more that we don't know about.

sakredkow said...

Aridog, I'm not challenging what you are saying, and I'm not minimizing anything.

I'm respectfully saying I'm withholding judgment or belief until they are adjudicated by sober-headed nonpartisans apart from those found in Althouse comments.
