2 explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line: "I saw people’s legs blown off. Horrific.... Runners were coming in and saw unspeakable horror."

"Eyewitnesses at the scene said there were two loud explosions about five seconds apart, and emergency vehicles crowded the scene. Up to 60 people have been reported injured, dozens of them seriously."

How 'bout this, "Drudge, Post and Fox really disgraced themselves, again. Probably the main reason Obama had to give press conference, to tamp down unfounded rumors."?

On what planet can this be considered deceitful? The Post was and is propagating an unfounded rumor and Drudge and Fox were amplifying that rumor.

Maybe it turns out that a foreign national did this, but there is clearly not enough evidence at the moment to plaster this rumor all over the front pages. I suspect that is why Obama had to give such a hasty press conference. The only way this situation is made worse is if other people die because of a tit-for-tat based on an unfounded rumor.

An ESPN interviewed program producer who has done the Boston Marathon coverage for years remembered walking around out side at the finish line area about 11:00AM today and being surprised by seeing three different Police Dept dog sniffing teams going over and over the finish line area.

He thought that was "very through" and did not remember ever seeing it done before.

He mentioned that the bomb could have been brought in later and set on an overhead walkway where it went off.

So the police may have received a threat. But their careful checking still left a 3 hour window for a bomb in a back pack to be dropped off.

That MO is similar to the Atlanta Olympic bomber's. I hope it is not another Abortion Vigilante.

My point, which remains valid whoever is ultimately shown to be responsible, is that targeting a particular ethnic group as the villans in this story on the basis of zero evidence is reprehensible. I don't listen to NPR or watch MSNBC. I do read Drudge and saw his links to the the NY Post and they pissed me off. Both sites where clearly pushing a particular line. Drudge, much later, included links to CBS and NBC but if you follow the links the information on those sites is both back page and quite ambiguous.

Drudge and the Post were clearly rabble rousing by targeting a minor ethnic group, which is a form of bullying that I find particularly cowardly. Even rags like theirs should maintain some standards during these kinds of events. That there were idiots on the left doing something similar may also be true but it doesn't invalidate my disgust at the behavior of Drudge and the Post.

And that is not a sophisticated attack.

What the hell does "sophistication" have to do with anything?

Unsophisticated IEDs wreaked havoc on US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Unsophisticated Molotov Cocktails can take out tanks in the right hands.

Shrapnel loaded pipe bombs may not be "sophisticated" in your view, but if you just put the emphasis on the word "bomb," you might get a little understanding as to why you sound like a total moron.

Those unsophisticated devices in Boston shredded flesh and shattered bone. They killed and maimed. Terrorism isn't rocket science.

============
An excellent comeback at Drago and others that have embraced the meme of idiot liberal arts journalism majors that enemy attacks are either sophisticated and kill a lot of people and should be responded to or "unsophisticated" and kill a lot of people but because they are "unsophisticated attacks" are not something to be concerned about.....

Nor is the sophistication/non-sophistication matter only applicable to terrorism. Warfare employs sophisticated means, but it is also jihadis with fertilizer bombs and Marines gutting jihadis in close quarters with knives or clubbing the jihadi to death by banging his brains out on the floor.

In fact, the general rule in insurgencies and warfare is the simpler the manner and means of the attack, the better. And the less people involved in planning and executing an attack, the better.

Normally I would have bet about 70:30 foreign versus domestic. Because of the date, which may be a pure coincidence, I would have raised the odds a little higher on the domestic for this one, but it still remains more likely that it is foreign.

But, it is not the job of the newspapers to insert their fucking prejudices into their front page headline, essentially inciting violence against a particular ethnic group, in the absence of any evidence.

First views I had of cops showed most of them running away as well.

I did notice they got real brave once they rolled out the armored vehicles and automatic weapons though.

The brave people are the fellow spectators that did what they could to help, not knowing what might be happening next. There's a great picture of former Patriots OL Joe Andruzzi (cancer survior and brother of 9/11 FDNY heroes) carrying an injured person from the scene.

Your attempt to enlist the dead and wounded on your "side" doesn't offend me.

It is funny you would type this and then go into blinkered self-delusion when the Newton, CT example is given.

Are you dishonest or merely dumb?

Hey, when a bunch of Democrats took to the airwaves to enlist the dead and wounded on their "side" the day of the Newton, CT murders, you were all creeped out right?

Your political opinions don't creep me out, Jay. They're just childish.

You personally creep me out.

Says the person calling for gun control the day of the Newton, CT school shooting.

You have no credibility, clown.
A self-respecting person would understand this.

You'll carry on.

My point, which remains valid

Uh-huh:

"The foreigner, who was badly burned, was in the United States on a student visa and is considered a person of interest and possible suspect in the case but has not been formally charged or arrested. The potential suspect is currently hospitalized.”

That's from Politico. You silly goof.

He is being held, isn't he?

He's being questioned while handcuffed to a hospital bed, but the "Saudi national" is not "in custody".

That's so they don't have to mirandize him.

So, once again, literally everything Jay said was wrong. Is there a more empty-headed ideologue posting on this board?
