"I really like humble Trump, and that’s what I saw last night. That’s the father I know. And here’s a man who’s not a politician..."

"... he’s not a PC guy either, and he has run on not being politically correct and every single day he’s out there giving speeches. He has strayed, and he admitted it last night. When he said it last night, the audience went crazy. It’s cool that he toned it back. It was really neat that he did that.”

Said Eric Trump.

Yeah, me too.

I watched a good bit of his speech in Michigan today and what I saw I really, really, really, liked.

I see now what he was doing last night with his bit about regrets for some of the things he has said.

Today he had a significant riff on Crooked Hilary and her need to apologize to a bunch of different people and groups of people

talk about the Middle east rattling off a bunch of countries she has screwed up

"But has she ever apologized for the death and destruction she has caused?"

A minute or two later:

"Yet, Hillary Clinton, who is indifferent to the suffering she has caused, has no remorse. She offers no apologies for selling government favors. No apologies for unleashing ISIS. No apologies for open borders. No apologies for lying about her emails, or about Benghazi."

Had he not said what he did last night Crooked Hilary could have come back and said that Trump had never apologized for anything.

Now he has 2 comebacks:

1) He did.

2) Compared to what she has to apologize for doing anything he has to apologize for saying is very small beer.

I really liked the old Trump. I like the new one even better.

I like the contrast between his energy and Crooked Hillary's. Jeb Bush was a genuine dynamo compared to her.

Crooked Hillary is taking a few days off from the stress of speaking to high school gyms that she can't even fill. Not all that many of them, either.

Yesterday Trump did a major rally in NC, this morning in LA and not just speaking but unloading trucks (Yeah, I know, photo op but still) then this afternoon another big rally in Michigan.

He has rallys tomorrow, Monday, tuesday and Wed. His schedule past wed is not on his site but I wonder how many days he'll take off.

All it took was for Trump to pretend to be humble and remorseful for the sheep to follow the shepherd again, baaaaaha hahahaha. It would be funnier if it wasn't kind of pathetic.

It takes a special kind of sheep to keep shilling for Crooked Hillary, easily the most corrupt person in America.

Scott Adams thinks this is the "third act" where the protagonist recognizes something about himself, makes the difficult change, and wins. I hope he's right. I'm losing faith in basic human and societal values, particularly the value of not lying. Ryan Lochte's lies should surprise no one: with Hillary Clinton as a leading figure on the stage we learn clearly that lying works.

And it isn't just lying ... it's a collapse of core values I believe we're crucial toward the building of America.

Imperfect vessel that he is, Donald Trump is the best hope we have. I hope were into the third act.

If they are back to following Trump, for whatever reason, doesn't that bode ill for Crooked Hilary?

Seems like a good thing to me. I guess to you, not so much.

I haven't read Scott Adams post on this, but I was thinking it was a third act as well. But I think it more like it was planned, probably long ago, that he would eventually transform into a reformed non-PC tough guy who tells it like it is but not without his own level of compassion. In absolute terms, and relative to other politicians he is still very rough around the edges. But relative to where he was perceived before, Trump will now look like he has turned over a new leaf, and is a completely new person.

The thing is, most people will respond to this. Much like the asshole friend, or boyfriend, who suddenly becomes less of an asshole, (not kind but approaching normal) most people will be enamored by this. He still gets to keep the positives about his previous image: tough, confident, and tenacious, but now gets to cast aside some of the negatives like mean or uncaring.

I think this is pure, planned emotional manipulation on his part. I also think it will work. And I kind of want it to work.

It's the humility that led Trump today to predict that if he wins the presidency in November 2016, then in November 2020 he will win 95% of the African-American vote. (Obama managed 93% of the African-American vote in 2012.)

Hagar said...

Probably not, but it was an astounding section he had on Black voting and "what do you have to lose?" No other politician - and he now is a politician - would ever have come up with a passage like that.
I hope he takes it further. It could resonate big time.

He could even suggest that enterprising Blacks who are unhappy with the Democrat machines in their areas might consider the possibility of pulling "Bloombergs," i.e., change their registration and run as Republicans, hoping to keep their own followings and getting as many Republicans as possible for a win to enter office and break up the machine, or at least make the powers that be see the light.

Cant' speak for Unk, but it seems to me that he doesn't like or respect Donald Trump and since this is not a DJT bought-and-paid-for website like Brietbart, his sarcasm is perfectly permissible as evidenced by the fact that our lovely hostess hasn't banned him.

Thing is, gadfly, unknown is a democratic shill. It's very hard to tell the difference between him/her/it and you, which I guess means what it means. If you're not a democratic shill, you might try not to sound like one.

Refresher course on style of a New Leader taking over a group:

1)Come in as a nice person seeking friends, and later use harsh orders when needed to gain discipline and the result is a rejection and refusal to follow that weak leader's authority that seems a betrayal.

2)Come in as a harsh SOB immediately demanding perfect discipline, and later on use the nice person seeking friends touch and the result is total loyalty to a great leader.

Hillary -- sensing a one-sided battle space that could win it for her early -- has been hiding behind a tree hoping her minions in and out of the media and Trump himself would do him in.

Had an effect, but it didn't work, and Trump is on the rebound.

What does Hillary do now?

Does Team Hillery believe she can go toe-to-toe with Trump?

Trump continued with his unionist theme to blame NAFTA and the WTO for the loss of jobs in Michigan when everyone knows that the American auto industry rolled over for the UAW, agreed to mountains of expensive work rules and overpaid wages and benefits for sub-par quality vehicles that couldn't compete against foreign brands built right here in good old USA. The taxpayer has already paid dearly for the bankruptcy bailout of GM and Chrysler, as well as paying to take perfectly good used vehicles from the marketplace. Further, the anti-fossil-fuel people talked the government into funding new all-electric vehicles and the Chevy Volt (the electric car that runs on gasoline and sets garages afire).

We need more free-trade and less tariffs - just the opposite of the Trump plan. And we need the government to get out and stay out of private-for-profit businesses. That's what conservatives have always advocated but what we get from Trump is the worse kind of liberalism theory. We do not need government involved in any capitalist enterprise, including where Ford and Leer locate their plants.

And contrary to popular belief and liberal propaganda, jobs and GNP have grown in all three nations involved in NAFTA. How does Five Million Jobs, a 65% Growth in GNP, and a 448% Growth in Non-NAFTA Foreign Investment in the U.S. over 20 years sound? As the Everly's sang: "Wake up, Little Susie!"

Sounds good, Hagar - there surely are a lot of bad local governments out there. Why not empower Republican challengers? Even a losing challenge will win some new R voters.

You are deliberately being stupid and missing the point. A free trade agreement takes 1 page. NAFTA is hundreds of pages of crony carve-outs. All of these free trade agreements work for big businesses. Not so much for everyone else. We can and should do better than NAFTA.

Also nobody believes the numbers coming out of the government anymore. We have printed and borrowed over 2 trillion dollars a year every year during the Obama presidency. That is 12-17% of GDP. Growth is under 2%. Inflation and graft would easily account for the bulk of the gains you posted.

Anyone getting rich right now is working with or for the government.

achilles says that I am being stupid about NAFTA and other trade agreements that are thousands of pages long with language favoring some players. He didn't first ask me if I would prefer the "single-page agreement" whereby you don't charge me tariffs and I won't charge you either. I do prefer them but they do not exist anywhere. So I will take economic gains for our economy using faulty agreements that have been in place for a long time.

But you cannot charge that Michigan's job lost had anything to do with NAFTA - it was caused by liberal stupidity and their bending us toward full socialism through unionism and abandonment of capitalism. It was caused by the Obama regime stepping in to pick the American automotive industry's winners and losers which you just said you don't like.

As for my using government numbers - had you followed my link you would have arrived at the American Action Forum, a center-right think tank. Trump, our "conservative" candidate is using liberal numbers put forth through the unions. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to be smarter than achilles and The Donald. Our economy, is not in good shape and this left-turn being proposed will bring our slow economy to a crawl. And the Trump tariffs will drastically increase retail prices.

So we will move forward with the alt-righters in charge and spewing nonsense.
